Tips For Smooth Legs
Improve circulation in your legs and lower the risk of unsightly veins by elevating your feet when resting.
Prior to waxing or shaving, it's of utmost importance to exfoliate your legs. The nutrients contained in the scrub potion nourish the skin and welcome healthier cells to replace the dead skin cells shed through exfoliation. Don't just scrub away old cells -- promote new ones.
Wait until after your shower to shave. The steam softens hairs for smoother results.
When shaving your legs, it's best to opt for an evening or nighttime removal. Our skin swells overnight, so an a.m. shave is not going to get nearly as close as it would at night. Pick a time when you won't have to rush as well. Because whether you're waxing or shaving, you'll want to take your time in order to prevent any cuts or irritation.
Don’t use creams that contain heavy fragrance or alpha hydroxy acids on freshly shaven legs. They’ll sting and cause a rash.
A fragrant lotion creates softness, and newly applied moisturizer creates a nice glow that draws attention to your silky legs. You can also buy lotions with added shimmer for a little extra radiance.
Lotions that has vitamin E can really do wonders to your legs. Apply lotion that has vitamin E and make sure you massage it in an upward motion. Also make sure you apply a sunscreen if you are going out in the sun.
When applying “liquid stockings” [or today’s self-tanner], don’t forget the back of your knees, which are often missed.
Waxing your legs? Pull skin taut before applying the wax to make it easier to remove the strip in one clean motion. Remove leftover wax with a cotton ball dipped in baby oil.
Treating Dark Knees Naturally
•Rub lime juice over the discolored area and leave for 15-20 minutes. Soak a towel in hot water and scrub firmly. Repeat this for 2 weeks.
•Mix half teaspoon of lime juice with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Apply and wash in the same way with a hot towel. Repeat this everyday for better results.
