Lovely Lips Tips

Get lips soft and smooth by using a damp, warm washcloth at night to rub off the flaky dry bits; follow with a coat of lip balm.

Ease the evening switch to a redder or darker lipstick by applying it over and blending it into your daytime color.

To make lipstick last longer, allow it to set for a few minutes after applying, blot lips with tissue and dust them with powder, then apply another coat.

Cheeks feeling flushed? Put on a bold color lipstick; a neutral shade will only make red cheeks stand out.

For lipliner that glides on, warm it up first by pinching it with your fingertips.

To keep lipstick from bleeding, pat a little concealer around your lips.

Smile when you put on your lipstick—it’s the best way to ensure complete coverage, corners included.

If you're sick of having thin, pursed puckers, extend your lip line using a neutral-toned lip liner. Then apply lipstick over top. Be careful though -- don't extend your lip line too much.

Licking your lips damages the protective barrier, which can dry out the lips, (Saliva contains digestive enzymes that can break down this barrier.) Instead, regularly apply lip balm.

Place a slice of tomato on the skin for a minute. This is quite effective in case of wrinkles around lips.

Lips are susceptible to sunburn since they lack melanin, the pigment that helps shield skin from the sun. Apply a layer of a sun-protective product daily.

Honey being a humectants, has moisturizing and healing properties for cracked lips. It can be applied on small cuts on lips because it is antibacterial. Apply it before bed time or throughout the day; it will leave lips smooth and soft.

Before going to bed, do not forget to remove lipstick and apply moisturizer on lips.
